Artist Statement

Derbyshire has a beautiful landscape both and above and below the ground. This series of pictures are uniquely made to reflect the colours and textures of the local area. Each one is different! They are made using a blend of coloured waxes which melt together to create a rich depth of image. Below the visible landscapes of green dales and wild moors lie the caverns and mineshafts beneath our feet. Threads of minerals combine with water and algae to form a mysterious world. Above ground, the ever-changing light of the Derbyshire sky brings highlights and shadows across the stone walls and tree tops. These images are designed to remind of you of this beautiful county and time spent here.
