Artist Statement
An award winning artist, Cheryl Wilbraham studied natural history illustration. She is the recipient of a RHS Silver Gilt Medal, is a Fellow of The Society of Botanical Artists and was the winner of The St. Cuthbert's Mill award from the SBA in 2010.In recent years Cheryl has expanded on her original discipline of Botanical painting to broaden her view of natural history and the natural environment, concentrating mainly on landscape painting.
Working in watercolour and other water based mediums, sometimes with the addition of dry mediums, such as pastel, Cheryl's paintings and sketches are both a visual and emotional response to the subject. Trying to keep the focus on the initial reaction, her aim is to describe and reflect what she sees in an uncomplicated and simplified way.
Working form her studio in South Derbyshire, Cheryl offers original paintings, giclée prints, greetings cards and occasional workshops.
Enquiries are welcomed along with studio visits which are by appointment.
