Artist Statement
I am a neurodivergent printmaker based in North East Derbyshire. I am particularly interested in traditional techniques such as woodcut, etching, mezzotint and monoprint, and prefer a low-tech, "analogue" approach to working with computers. Although I use one ready-made etching press, I have also built my own presses by repurposing Victorian washing mangles, and designed and built a large press made from RSJ girders with a 6-foot wheel. My perennial subjects are landscape and trees, and I am also inspired by Derbyshire's industrial past. I have had work exhibited at Derby and Lichfield Cathedrals, have a permanent collection on display at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and am a regular exhibitor at the Manger Gallery in Melbourne.
