Artist Statement

I am a mixed media textile artist, and use a variety of techniques including hand and machine embroidery. I belong to Ecostitchers, an exhibiting group of textile artists based in and around the Peak District. Ecostitchers produce a wide variety of high quality and innovative textile art exploring environmental and climate change. We try to work in an environmentally conscious and sustainable way, using materials we already have, or share amongst the group rather than simply buying new. Each member of Ecostitchers works independently, inspired by a theme chosen for the year. For 2025, our theme is Habitats. My particular focus is on the habitat created by the oak tree. Our new exhibition will have its premiere in Beeley Village Hall as part of the Derbyshire Open Arts Festival.
