Artist Statement

My ceramics reflect a deep connection to nature and organic form, with each piece embodying this inspiration in it's design, texture and finish. I primarily create burnished, barrel-fired work often incorporating touches of 24ct gold to add a sensse of warmth, elegance and contrast. The burnishing process, combined with the unpredictable effects of barrel-firing, results in unique surfaces that evoke the raw beauty of natural lansscape. This method requires patience and precision as the outcome is influenced by many factors beyond control, which makes every piece a one-of-a-kind creation.
Beyond the traditional, my adventurous nature drives me to constantly push boundaries in ceramics, exploring new forms, glaze combinations and firing techniques. Each experiment offers an opportunity to learn and evolve leading to pieces that are both functional and sculptural, with a distinctive identity.
My work is a reflection of my journey as an artist. Every creation tells a story of exploration and a deep respect for the materials I work with.
