Artist Statement

Julie is a mixed media artist working with textiles, collage and paint, using her hand stitching and freestyle techniques to create a range of individual art pieces. Her collage work incorporates both paint, paper and stitch using found and made papers to add to her unique pieces.

Her work is colourful and vibrant, evolving around nature, history, still life, interiors and portraiture. She especially likes to create work from her own surroundings at home. Julie is a member of a stitch group in Scarborough where she has opportunities to exhibit her stitch work, and is a member of the Derbyshire Makers Group of artisans and makers.
