Artist Statement

Philip uses a stoneware clay to produce his high fired ceramics. Various textured clays, porcelain slips and under-glaze colours are applied to achieve his distinctive surfaces. Glaze is rubbed into these surfaces before the final firing takes place. Some pieces are multi-fired to achieve a desired outcome. All of his pots are made as one off pieces and form part of a series rather than repetition.
