Artist Statement

Carly Grice is a stone sculptor creating direct-carved, modern, often abstract stone sculptures that are influenced by natural and architectural forms.
Carly works with stone and the direct carving technique which involves chipping away with a mallet and chisel as the form reveals itself. She works with alabaster, sandstone and limestone to create abstract sculptures and figurative work inspired by her connection with people, places and things.
Her sculptures are predominantly stone, although some works can be purchased as a bronze limited edition.
Carly is available for abstract, portrait and public sculpture commissions and architectural or design projects incorporating art.

The Loft is a sensitively restored former storage building in Hayfield in the High Peak. Refurbished to create a sculpture workshop and meeting space, it provides a calm, considered interior for creative endeavours.
