Artist Statement

Living in the Peak District and frequently visiting the coastal areas in Anglesey, I take my inspiration from the natural world and landscapes around me. I individually design and hand build ceramic sculptures, each piece is unique. Using natural forms, colours and textures they are brought to life with oxides and glaze. I use high quality stoneware craft crank clays, working with the natural clay body colour. Fired to high temperatures, all pieces are suitable for outside use. I aim for them to be aesthetic and in some cases, as with the birdbaths, functional. Commissions are welcome.
