Artist Statement

I create both functional and decorative sculptural ceramic pieces in my studio on the edge of the Peak District. Everything is thrown on the potter's wheel, using stoneware and porcelain clays, and decorated with glazes I make on site. Simple, elegant forms - sometimes alone, sometimes assembled from thrown pieces - are created mostly as individual, unrepeated works, and are covered in a colour palette that reflects the colours of the local land and sky.
