Artist Statement
I create modern jewellery using traditional silversmithing techniques and more contemporary precious metal clay. My main collection is inspired by the lace-making heritage of Nottingham. I imprint lace onto the surface of silver which is then forged into fluid organic shapes reflecting the movement of heavy lace.More recent work is inspired by delicate seedheads and wild flowers collected in Derbyshire. By working with silver clay and 24ct gold, I try to capture the uniqueness and delicacy of foliage and flowers.
All pieces are one-of-a-kind and are created using recycled silver and fair-mined gold. I source gemstones which have traceable supply chains and are fairly traded.
