Artist Statement

For many years Valda has been inspired by her near and far environment. Often the results were oil paintings on canvas but gradually her passion changed more towards using fabric and thread. Her work in the main is achieved by hand using simple straight stitches using a wide variety of threads. The background colouring of the fabric is achieved using soft fabric paint.
