Artist Statement

Frances Daunt is an award-winning animal artist living in Derbyshire. As an animal lover she is fascinated in the 'soul' or character of animals and this shines through in her work.
Frances keeps her work fresh by working in a variety of media. She loves to paint or work in pastels and coloured pencils, creating artwork which is held in private collections world-wide. She finds that by using different media she is continually challenging herself and learning something new which helps keep her work fresh and interesting.
She is well known for her ever popular and rather unique map art. These are mixed media pictures painted directly on to vintage maps and then dry mounted and framed.
Her most recent body of work is an underwater series in acrylics.
