Artist Statement

Although frequently the landscape will be a starting point, Jane's work aims to capture the experience and feeling of a place rather than a realistic rendition of it. Jane enjoys to let paint build up in many layers, using translucent layers to show traces of the work as it develops. Both drawing and painting are an important part of her practise, with final pieces showing subtle marks as a history of the development of each piece.
