Artist Statement

I am an intuitive mixed media artist who draws inspiration from nature in particularly flowers. Alongside my floral inspiration I am also drawn to patterns and their intricate shapes, I source man-made objects with different patterns that I then use to print directly on to the canvas whilst allowing my intuitive thought process to guide and take me on a journey.
Creating patterns within my work is key to me particularly my circular mandala patterns, which for me are a representation of souls. The mandala patterns bring my paintings to life and add to the story of the painting.
I aim to abstract and simplify the paintings through the use of symbolism to allow the viewers the opportunity to create their own interpretations.
