Artist Statement

Karen studied Graphic Design at Stockport and Leicester College of Art. She was awarded a bursary from the Royal Society of Arts as a result of winning a national competition.
Karen illustrated over 50 books throughout her career and was also a drawn animator for Cosgrove Hall Films, working on children's programmes such as Dangermouse, Duckular, the BFG and Rainbow.
After retiring, she decided to devote her time to fine art and now works from her studio at the Dinting Industrial Estate, Glossop.
Although Karen loves to paint any subject, her recent interest lies in fantasy painting and she is now working on a project based on local myths and legends.
She has exhibited at the Portico, Manchester Art Fair, Urbis, Buxton Art Gallery, Stockport Art Gallery and other local venues.
