Artist Statement

Andie lives in Chesterfield and paints landscapes inspired by the wonderful countryside nearby, especially the Peak District. She has always loved being out and about in wild natural places, from forests to wild moorlands and mountains, lakes and coast. She has lived previously in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Somerset so there has been lots to keep the creative juices flowing over the years. She observes and absorbs the details of her environment; the geology, plants, weather, light and colour, and tries to share an imaginative sense of special places.
Andie studied Botany at university, and she volunteers with Transition Chesterfield on various environment and sustainability-themed projects.
Andie paints mainly in oils on canvas or wooden boards. She welcomes ideas for collaboration and commissions.
