Artist Statement

I am a trained knitwear designer, but I had undertaken a rug hooking workshop some years ago, and due to the practicality of bringing a knitting machine to a show, decided to concentrate on designing and producing traditional hooked rag rugs and wall hangings. Passionate about sustainability and drawing on my Ukrainian heritage, I only use recycled and scrap fabric. My work has a heavy emphasis on colour and pattern and as I never know what fabric I may be able to obtain, each piece is totally unique.
